“While at the clinic for my elder...”
While at the clinic for my elderly father's appointment (he no longer drives) I mentioned to the medical assistant that I was still in pain from an injury and needed to find time for an appointment for myself. The assistant encouraged me to go to the desk to see if there was an opening. There weren't any available. The care team at the front desk asked me to wait a few minutes while they talked to the nurse. She talked to Dr. Tomaszewski who made time in his busy schedule to see me after my father's appointment. My diagnosis was a foot fracture, and I am grateful for the team's compassion and willingness to go above and beyond for me as a busy full-time professional and parent caregiver who doesn't always have time to prioritize my own care. Thanks to all!
