Dothan Internal Medicine does not accept insurance. We contract with patients directly for a fair subscription price to provide all of a patient's outpatient and inpatient internal medicine care for the year. We strongly encourage our patients to have medical insurance to help cover the more expensive aspects of their medical care (hospitalization, procedures, radiology, surgeries, labs, etc.). However, we chose not to accept insurance payment (and its many strings) in an effort to be able to provide more responsive, personal and accessible primary care.
In Dr. Beauchamp's opinion, healthcare reform has impacted all of healthcare, but no part has been more negatively impacted than primary care. He is passionate about primary care and he hopes that the move to Direct Primary Care will restore some of the aspects of his practice lost over the past few tumultuous years of rapid healthcare reform.
