Dr Holcomb explained his proposed surgical approach to my lumbar scoliosis,stenosis,etc problems, with a realistic explanation of what kind of pain relief the surgery could provide. I felt that I would literally be in " good hands" with him as my surgeon. He discussed options for my situation in a way that was understandable, & proposed tests to further determine the optimum approach ( a lumber CT to see if my bone density is good enough to support fixating screws.)
