“I met Doctor Joshi for the first...”
I met Doctor Joshi for the first time during this recent surgical consult appointment. Dr. Joshi immediately apologized for what he said was a long wait, although it did't seem long to me. He listened very well to my explanation of a recurring inguinal hernia, of which I learned from an unrelated MRI at another facility. I brought the radiology report with me and Dr. Joshi read it two different times during my visit. He did a complete examination and gave his assessment and treatment recommendation. I had several questions relating to surgical scheduling with concern about upcoming travel plans. Dr. Joshi explained that his surgical schedule is booked out to April of 2026 (This appointment was in October of 2025) but that he could place me on a cancelation list with the hope of obtaining a sooner date. He also offered the option of waiting until my return from travel and explained the pros and cons of either option. Lastly, he explained the recovery time and process in detail and answered several questions.Overall, I was very pleased with my experience. I didn't feel rushed during the consultation and felt that Dr. Joshi wouldn't leave until he had addressed all of my questions and concerns. He finished by introducing me to the surgical coordinator and explaining my concern to her. On another matter, it's worth noting that Dr. Joshi walked into the exam room wearing a full business suit and tie. This was an old-school professional touch that you don't frequently see these days.Having had other treatment procedures at Cedars Sinai, I am happy to drive over an hour from my home in Thousand Oaks. Cedars offers the highest level of care and I will always recommend it to others.
