Dr Aviv's approach to acid reflux has helped me make a change in the foods that I eat. This change has made it possible for me to avoid a post nasal drip, problems with my sinuses, a cough and sore throat from many times of involuntary vomiting. Yes I need to avoid the triggers that cause these symptoms but it makes life more enjoyable.

Dr. Aviv accurately diagnosed my problem with GERD-related throat problems and prescribed a regimen to reverse inflammation. This was successful, and throat inflammation has subsided. You have to be patient though, it takes weeks for the inflammation to reduce.

The nurse was kind and knowledgable. She asked relevant questions and put me completely at ease. Dr. Aviv is so brilliant. He clearly articulated what the issue was, and what I could do about it from both a medical and lifestyle perspective. His understanding of the impact of my recent bout with Covid and how that had impacted my condition was enlightening. I left full of hope and energized knowing I had a plan of action to take to feel better and restore my energy and health.

Dr. Aviv listened and immediately understood why my issue with my voice had to be resolved. After the Laryngoscopy Fiberop with Stroboscopy, he showed me on the screen what was going on with my vocal chords and the therapies I needed to perform. After I left, I felt that the problem was going to be dealt with and that I was on my way to recovering full use of my voice!

Dr. Aviv spent time with me going over his exam results when I was in the office. He explained everything thoroughly and clearly and was truly involved in my treatment, suggesting ways for me to help myself including using a steam inhaler and an algae-based supplement as well as medicine. I love Dr. Aviv's books including the Acid Watcher Diet and the Acid Watcher Cookbook. I learned a lot about how to keep myself healthy from these two books. Dr. Aviv is personable, friendly and helpful. His assistant, Kosette, is also very helpful and friendly. The office is very Covid safe. Dr Aviv showed me the images from the scope, which was very useful. He prescribed medication I told him I didn't want to take so I had to decline it the pharmacy. Dr Aviv was very attentive and very interesting regarding his advice; however, I was a bit unclear regarding when I should schedule the follow up tests and appointments. Went to many doctors and no one gave me "a real diagnosis” just acid reflux and advised not to eat chocolate, wine, citrus etc. Finally met with Dr. Aviv and after examining me and giving me the Fiberoptic endoscopic evaluation of swallowing with sensory testing (FEESST) he diagnosed me immediately and explained what was going on. Prescribed meds along with a treatment plan and cough was under control. Staff is always so pleasant and helpful. HIGHLY recommend.

But it was very frustrating that I was not seen until 45 minutes after my scheduled appointment time, making me late for work. It shows a lack of respect for patients' time. And no one even acknowledged how late the office was running. I would never treat a client that way. Doctors should not be given a pass for constantly making patients wait (especially after insisting that we arrive early!).

He offered me suggestions to help me with my LPR. He was personable, down-to-earth, and even called me by my name, something that few of my doctors have done. After following the Acid Watcher Diet for nearly nine months, I’m thrilled I was able to have an appointment with the eminent Dr. Aviv!

If I engaged in conversation for more than 10 minutes I would be more more and more hoarse. I'd been told I needed surgery on my vocal cords. A frightening prospect as I am a working voice over artist. That doctor had IMHO treated me poorly so...I sought a 2nd opinion. Thank God I did! Dr. Aviv's natural approach to resolving my issue is projected to have me back in the booth within a couple of months. His sincerity and genuine concern are just.... Wonderful! So Happy that I took the time to make this appointment.

I met with Dr. Aviv for the 1st time and it was just as I expected (based on the many positive reviews I'd read of him). He took time to explain my diagnosis and treatment plan. He was very knowledgeable of my issue (I've been suffering from tightness in my throat for months) and offered me comfort in that he immediately knew the cause of it and how to remedy it. My only con is that I have to travel into NYC to see him(I live in NJ)! But the visit was well worth it. Let's just hope the treatment works!
