“I realize that my problem is one...”

I realize that my problem is one the doctor hears all the time and is very routine to him. I was very concerned about my condition, and he did not seem to think it was a big deal. I was very frightened. He was not empathetic. I guess my problem is mild compared to what he has seen, but it was scary to me and important to me. On the other hand, he reassured me that I don't need any treatment and I have to weigh the cost/benefit of surgery if my condition gets too bad to function in my daily routines.
