We were about a quarter of the way through my appointment when my doctor realized I had diabetes. This was disheartening, as I hadn't been to primary care since I was diagnosed a year ago and I don't feel the doctor took time to even read through my chart prior to meeting with me. It felt more like checking the boxes of normal process than concern for current health. Once I let her know I was diagnosed, she asked some questions but having to alert her rather than her seeing on my chart since my last visit was concerning

Dr Witek has made me feel comfortable and confident in a way I've yet to feel from a visit to the Dr. She addresses any concerns with genuine empathy, sincerity, and without any inkling of judgement or hesitation. All my previous doctors have been good, for sure, but Dr Witek really made me feel like I was a guest to her office, not a customer to sell a service. She seemed to remember me, from a year ago, the only time I'd ever met her, and recalled my stepson has autism. I don't expect my doctor to remember me after a year, much less any details about my life after only meeting once. A very pleasant surprise. All said, I can't express enough how relieved I am to have found Dr Witek after my last 2 doctors have retired. Hope she is around for a long time yet!
