My physician is clearly very informed and experienced in his field. I came into this being mostly unaware of what my condition might be. While the doctor explained the Initial diagnosis in clear, concise details, he also made a remark (asking about having a good relationship with a dentist) suggesting, with no major tests yet done, that I would indeed be diagnosed with the extreme manifestation of this disease. In addition to the "newness" of learning about what's happening to me, that remark was a tad insensitive and, frankly, scared me (visions of crumbling bones etc.).
