We waited a very long time for his appointment due to an extensive waitlist. Our appointment was at 8am and we live an hour and 40 mins away. We booked a hotel the night before to make sure we didn't have any issues with traffic making it to the appointment. Webareived early. Filled out the early registration. The care nurse was an angel helping our son feel more comfortable and safe. She's amazing. When the doctor came in she was brief and asked why we were there. I was confused because we were referred due to my son having autism and a complex medical condition called EOE. Our local pediatrician thought it would be wise to see developmental medicine. The doctor said that in the portal it said we were there for a MD diagnosis of autism. I said oh well he was diagnosed through the speech pathology people at vanderbilt. Then I thought maybe our doctor just want us to have an MD confirm as well in case our insurance ever gives us trouble in the future. She spent 10 mins reading off questions that we answered and then said okay that's it you can schedule an appointment for a year or two out but make sure to be seen within three years or you will need another referral. And then asked if I had questions. I did. I came prepared. I felt like she didn't really halve the time to answer them or just gave me a "yeah that's right or sounds good response". We were done before 8:30.waited months for this appointment. Spent money to stay local. For it to be not worth our time.
