Love coming to this office! Have been to other chiropractors before and Dr. Phelts is by far one of the most caring Doctors that I have encountered. The office is very friendly and always spotless. He is a professional and knows what he is doing. The visits are quick and convenient and I can stop in real fast during my lunch break for a quick visit. I have been doing this for the last 3 months almost once every week. Dr. Phelts discussed my neck issues and back problem issues with me and suggested possible exercises as well as a plan of treatment and supplements. I've never felt forced into anything, he is very willing to work with my schedule, and what I'm comfortable with. And he takes the time to explain everything to you. He's not just going to crack your back, he's going to make sure you know what is going on, what other health issues you are having that are caused by the misalignment and do his best to get you back in line! He's full of great suggestions such as exercise and diet that can also help the healing process along with the chiropractic work he's doing. John Phelts is a wizard of a healer. I was diagnosed with 2 Frozen Shoulders by an Orthopedic Surgeon, towards the end of December 2014. Following 12 weeks of physical therapy, I had some improvement in one shoulder, but the other shoulder worsened. In terrible pain, I returned to the Dr. for advice. He recommended surgery. I sought a second opinion from an expert at the Hospital for Special Surgery in NYC who recommended Cortisone shots and further PT, stating that it would probably take up to 2 years before I recovered my range of motion. After some research regarding the shots, I declined them and returned to PT. My PT therapist mentioned that she was using some skills from the Niel Asher program, but she'd not trained in the techniques. I found The Niel Asher website, learned more about the techniques, and requested a recommendation for a certified therapist in NYC. They recommended John Phelts. I made an appointment with him soon after. He is a kind, compassionate man with a warm sense of humor. He put me at ease quickly, gave me a thorough exam, and began treatment. It is now only one month later, and I have nearly full range of motion in both arms. I have been amazed at the speed at which I regained range of motion. The constant pain was gone soon after he began treatment. I will continue to see him to achieve and maintain optimum recovery. I am impressed by his skillful work, and extremely relieved I chose not to listen to either of the recommendations by the other two doctors. I recommend him highly!
