John Carew graduated from Cornell University Medical College in 1991. Following this, he completed a Residency in Otolaryngology-Head & Neck Surgery at Manhattan Eye, Ear and Throat Hospital [Residency program of New York Presbyterian Hospital-Cornell Medical Center]. In 1999, he completed a 2-year fellowship in head and neck cancer surgery at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center sponsored by the National Cancer Institute. He received his Board Certification in Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery in 1998. Since 1999, he has been in practice caring for both adult and pediatric patients with general ear, nose and throat disorders as well as with tumors of the head and neck region. He is also a diplomat of the Joint Council on training in Head and Neck Surgery

Dr. John Carew has published over 35 articles and 10 book chapters both on topics in general otolaryngology as well as specifically in head and neck cancer. Many focused primarily on thyroid and salivary tumors.
